You'll find them in Terminal 1 in Concourse B and in the passageway between Concourses B and C (near Coffee Fellows and Relay). The Safety Stations accept cash payment in euros, as well as major credit cards and Apple Pay. We wish you a good and safe trip from Frankfurt Airport!

The new service offer makes the travel experience even easier and faster. Biometric facial recognition enables members of the frequent flyer program "Miles & More" to pass through security checks and boarding gates touchless - an important health and hygiene safety measure in times of Covid-19. This applies initially to selected Lufthansa and SWISS flights.

If your health or general condition suddenly takes a turn for the worse after arriving at Frankfurt Airport, contact our personnel right away to request medical assistance. Direct transfer at the airport for the purpose of onward travel by air to another (Schengen) state is not considered entry within the meaning of the Coronavirus Entry Regulation (Einreiseverordnung). Passengers in air traffic who only change planes at Frankfurt Airport do not have to comply with the provisions of the Coronavirus Entry Regulation. In these cases the digital entry registration, requirements for mandatory testing or providing proof of vaccination, quarantine regulations and travel bans from countries affected by coronavirus variants do not apply.

Arrival at Frankfurt Airport:

For up-to-the-minute information on your connecting flight, please consult one of the monitor screens located around the airport. If no gate has been assigned yet, head for the indicated pier. Then follow the blue signs to the gate while keeping the walking times displays in mind. Gray signs show the way to passenger services.

Transit passengers who must change between Piers A and B (in Terminal 1) may use the passenger tunnel. If you need to transfer between Pier A, B, C, or Z (in Terminal 1) and Pier D or E (in Terminal 2), follow the signs to the SkyLine train, which departs every two or three minutes, or take one of the shuttle buses that circulate between the terminals. Do you already have a boarding pass for your connecting flight?

If yes: Please consult one of the monitors to double check the assigned gate.
If not: Within the transit zone, please go to a transfer desk of the airline that is operating your flight or proceed straight to the departure gate, where you can obtain your boarding pass at the desk. In the pre-security part of the airport, please go to your airline’s check-in counter.

Security Check

In most cases, you must clear security checks on your way through the airport. Please allow enough time for them. Also please observe the restrictions on carrying liquids and gels into the aircraft cabin. Please note that you may not carry liquids bought in duty free shops at airports outside the EU when flying from Frankfurt Airport. This also applies to any duty-free items that you have bought on board a non-EU airline.

Passengers departing from FRA are strongly advised to contact their airline for information on the specific regulations regarding their flight and destination, before traveling to the airport. Please note in particular that in many countries a proof of your current Covid-19 status (vaccinated/recovered/test result) or other corona-related documents (e.g. a digital travel declaration) are required for entry. If you are unable to present this at Frankfurt Airport, it will not be possible to board the flight. Check in online in advance
Take a minimum of carry-on items and comply with the rules on luggage
Be at the airport at least two hours before your flight's departure

Terminal Parking - Terminal 2

The entrances to the underground car park P8 and P9 are open. If you already have a car park booking for Terminal 1 (P2, P3)*, but your airline departs now from Terminal 2 through the reopening, you can use the QR code from your Mobile Parking Pass also for Terminal 2 (entrances P8 and P9). A rebooking is not necessary.

* Terminal Parking only. With a Business Parking or eParking booking a cancellation and new booking is necessary.

Это самый быстрый способ добраться до указанных городов без пересадок.

Автобусные остановки расположены на 1 этаже Терминала 1 (остановка 16) и 2 этаже Терминала 2. Автобус №61 следует из аэропорта до станции Südbahnhof. Билет покупается у водителя.

We want you and your fellow travelers to depart from Frankfurt Airport safely and without worrying. To ensure this, we have implemented a wide range of hygiene measures. They are presented in the following. Stay healthy!

Mask obligation

It’s mandatory to wear a face mask or other appropriate face covering at all times inside the terminal facilities, shops, restaurants and airport transportation facilities such as buses and the automated people mover. The only exceptions are children under six and persons who are unable because of physical impairments or health issues. The consumption of food and beverages in the terminal is basically possible.

Please note that since January 23, 2021 only medical masks (so-called surgical masks or masks with the identifier KN 95/N95 and FFP 2) are allowed. Simple community masks or scarves will no longer be sufficient. Please bring your own appropriate mask. If you need a replacement, additional masks and disinfectant can be purchased in various shops.

All airport employees who are in direct contact with customers also use appropriate protection. By working together, we can ensure safety and hygiene for everyone.

Hygiene measures

We apply the same social distancing rules as everywhere else and therefore ask you to keep at least 1.5 meters (five feet) away from other people. This also applies to seating and waiting areas. To remind you and generally help protect all travelers, we have installed appropriate green floor markings and signs. All counters are also equipped with plexiglass shields. As far as possible, please avoid paying cash in shops and restaurants. Currently it is unfortunately only possible to order take-away food in our restaurants.

Disinfectant dispensers are available for your use in the terminal areas. We also recommend that you regularly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. We have also increased the frequency of cleaning at the airport and regularly sanitize all touchable surfaces in our terminals and vehicles.

At the airport, there are various test options for returning travelers as well as for departing passengers. All information can be found here. Please note that these testing opportunities at the airport are available exclusively to arriving and departing passengers.

Digital EU-Vaccination Certificates

Starting July 1st, the Digital EU Vaccination Certificate is available in pharmacies at Frankfurt Airport. Click here to find out if you are eligible.

Many shops and restaurants at the airport are open again and looking forward to your visit. Numerous restaurants in the terminals offer indoor catering with seating. Please inform yourself on site in the terminals about the respective catering offer and the accompanying state Corona regulations. Naturally, take away food and drinks bought at many restaurants and shops, are permitted to be consumed in the terminals.

Information for travel returnees

In general, all passengers (whether returning from a risk area or non-risk area) who wish to enter Germany by air, need to be tested and show proof of a negative Covid-19 test before departure. Vaccinated and recovered persons are only affected by this testing requirement if they have been in a virus variant area within the last ten days. In all other cases, proof of vaccination or proof of recovery is sufficient. Children under 12 years are exempted from the testing requirement. Further information can be found here.

In addition, the following rules apply to travelers returning from risk areas:

You must notify the local health department without delay by submitting a before entry completed arrival form through a entry portal. Carry the form with you at all times, either printed out on paper or stored on an electronic device. If digital registration is not possible, in exceptional cases you must fill in a written substitute registration and hand it in to the carrier or the border authority. Returning travelers from all risk areas need to be able to provide the proof of the negative Covid-19 test no later than 48 hours upon request to the competent authority.
